Skipper Kane Williamson and Neil Broom produced a flawless batting performance as New Zealand crushed Bangladesh by eight wickets in the final ODI to complete a three-match series whitewash at the Saxton Oval here on Saturday.

Opting to bat first, openers Tamim Iqbal (59) and Imrul Kayes (44) provided their side with a perfect start by sharing a 102-run stand for the opening wicket .

After the opener's dismissal, Bangladesh batting line-up suffered a collapse before Nurul Hasan's 44 from 39 balls offered late resistance to inspire his side post a target of 237 runs.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner scalped two wickets each while Tim Southee, Jeetan Patel, James Neesham and Williamson chipped in with a wicket each.

In reply, opener Martin Guptill got retired hurt on six while New Zealand lost Tom Latham for just four runs off Mustafizur Rahman's delivery.

However, Williamson, who was declared 'Man of the Match', led from the front as he smashed nine boundaries and one six in his unbeaten 95-run knock besides sharing a crucial 179-run stand for second wicket with Broom (97) to help his side chase down the target with 52 balls to spare.

New Zealand won the opening two ODIs against Bangladesh by 77 and 67 runs, respectively.
