Williamson, Taylor's tons anchor Kiwis to 119-run win against Pak in second ODI

Big-hitting batsmen Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor powered New Zealand to their highest one-day total of 369-5 against Pakistan with their respective tons to guide the hosts to a 119-run victory over the tourists in the second and final ODI at McLean Park in Napier.

Williamson's brilliant knock of 112 off 88 deliveries, including 14 fours and one six, and Taylor's unbeaten 102 off 70 deliveries, including 13 fours and two sixes, guided New Zealand to the gigantic total in their 50 overs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum set the pace for the hosts with their respective knocks of 76 and 31.

After skipper McCullum's dismissal off Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi's delivery, Williamson arrived on the crease to disrupt the tourists' bowling attack with his run-riot.

Williamson and Guptill posted the highest partnership of 128 runs for the second wicket in the match, before Taylor arrived on the scene to knock an unbeaten 102.

After New Zealand posted the monstrous total in their allotted 50 overs, Pakistani openers arrived on the crease to chase down the 370-run target.

Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad built the momentum for the visitors with their 86 and 55-run knock. Skipper Misbah-ul Haq also provided some stability to the Pakistan scoreline with his 45-run knock.

However, with 'Boom-Boom' Afridi failing to hit a big score and the rest of the visitors' line-up struggling to find momentum, the New Zealand bowlers dismissed Pakistan for 250 runs with 41 balls remaining.

New Zealand spinner Nathan McCullum, paceman Tim Southee, fast bowler Adam Milne, and medium paceman Grant Elliott claimed two wickets each to help the hosts secure the two-match series 2-0 against Pakistan.

Williamson was named the player-of-the-match for his brilliant 112 off 88 deliveries.
