West Indies fast-bowling legend Courtney Walsh has admitted that he will not entirely adopt Australia's new pace policy as he was baffled by it, but will also look for the 'right combination' for the upcoming Test series between the two sides.

Australian selectors came up with the new policy of choosing bowlers who can bowl above 140kmph.

The new approach raised eyebrows when Nathan Coulter-Nile was picked in the team for the first Test despite not having played a four-day game since March.

The tour selector also backed skipper Jason Holder's comments that their bowlers will exploit the weaknesses of Australia's middle-order batsmen.

He stressed he is looking forward to see that and said if his side managed to play to their full potential then the upcoming series would turn out to be extremely interesting.

West Indies, which is currently in a declining phase, had last claimed a Test victory in Australia in 1997 and will aim to improve that record when they take on second-ranked Australia in the first Test of the three-match series, starting in Hobart on Thursday.
