The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) awards were presented at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Hyderabad.
WITSA is the most comprehensive and influential entity representing the information and communication technology (ICT) and services industry in the world. Awards recognize the entities that made the most significant contributions to mankind in 2018. Eight "Global ICT Excellence" awards and two "Chairman" awards were presented by WITSA's chairman to the winners. Additionally two special WITSA Chairman's awards were presented.
Talking to ANI, Dr. James H Poisant, General Secretary of WITSA, said, "This conference is an interesting one which gives idea about the new technologies. This conference centre of excellence is artificial intelligence and data science. Sessions were made on emphasising both of them."
Dr. Poisant added: It's a platform for the new entrepreneurs who are aspiring to excel in technology."
Digital Education Institute Deputy Director General I-Chang Tsai highlighted the importance of technology in the education sector.
"We believe that using technology could connect people, create value. Even the children in the most remote island, still have the same learning opportunities as those in the metropolitans," Tsai said.
The Digital Education Institute provides quality digital interventions to corporates, organisations, schools, teachers and youth.
It has over 100 interactive live broadcast courses which affect more than 40,000 K-12 schools and under-resourced teachers and students.
K-12 is a short form for the publicly-supported school grades prior to college.
"We request the teachers to teach the class thorough the digital equipments which makes the students to understand quickly. We are going to improvise ourselves in the coming one year," Tsai said.
