Former Pakistani Test captain Mohammad Yousuf has reportedly agreed to join the new national selection committee for cricket.

The committee will reportedly take charge from April 1, with Rashid Latif as the chairman of the new national selection committee.

According to The Nation, a source said that Latif had recommended the name of Yousuf to work with him in the new committee as a national selector and also agreed to the nomination of former Test batsman Haroon Rasheed as a co-opted member.

The source also said that Latif had agreed to the nomination of Rasheed, who has remained a selector, head coach and manager of the national junior and senior teams in the past, because he brings a lot of experience with him.

The source said that Latif, who is also a former captain, has also recommended the names of batsman, Wajahatullah Wasti from Peshawar and pace bowler, Shabbir Ahmed to work with him in the selection committee, the report added.
