The new Jaguar XF will be unveiled at the 2015 New York motor show scheduled in April 2015 and will hopefully be put on sale by autumn 2015. The new XF will be built on an all new aluminium body structure (iQ chassis) which also does duty in Jaguar XE and features new powertrains from the same Ingenium engine range. With the updated model, Jaguar looks to tap the sales of next generation BMW 5 Series.
According to the media reports, the new XF embraces sleeker and sharper look as the automaker is said to focus on the proportions and looks of the XF being more sporty. The interiors too looks similar to the XE as it features new infotainment and connectivity system.
Talking about the future plans of Jaguar, once the XE and XF launched, the company will introduce the new SUV which is based on C-X17 Concept SUV showcased last year. According to JLR boss Dr Ralf Speth, the new vehicle is not an SUV as the name is best suited for Land Rover brand. He also said that the new Jaguar car will be built by focusing more on driving dynamics. ''A Jaguar SUV is not possible,' said Speth. 'SUVs and 4x4s are for Land Rover; the Jaguar concept is far more road-orientated. It will need a different kind of name.''
