Dacia, the wholly owned subsidiary of Renault, has officially revealed the Duster's pickup version. The vehicle has been spotted several times online during test rounds. The production is limited to 500 units and is co-developed by Dacia and Romanian coach builder – Romturingia. The company will provide all the 500 Duster Pickups to a fleet customer in Romania and reportedly, 10 units have already been delivered.
Speaking of the pickup version, Dacia provides the standard Duster to Romturingia and then the coach building company alters the vehicle. Adding on the design changes, pickup version features facelifted Duster's face and unique to pickup version, there are extremal roll-cage over the cabin. The vehicle features single cab layout with a loading area of 1.7 meters and can carry luggage up-to 450kg.
Mechanically, Duster Pickup is powered by the 110PS version of 1.5-liter dCi turbo diesel. The motor develops a healthy 108.5bhp of max power and 248Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed manual box. The Duster pick-up features 4WD layout, just like the recently launched Duster AWD in India. The vehicle features a shift-on-fly four wheel drive system sporting three modes, namely - 2WD, Auto and Lock-4WD.
Renault India, recently launched the Duster AWD version in India, the compact SUV features upgraded chassis and drive-train along with refreshed interiors. Renault India did not launch the Duster AWD with facelifted face, expect the Duster Indian range to receives a facelift sometime next year.
