In order to mark its presence in the growing compact SUV segment, Toyota Kirloskar Motor unveiled the much-anticipated Etios Cross at the 2014 Auto Expo. While the bookings of the crossover have already been commenced, the deliveries are being promised to commence from May 2014. One can now book the new Etios Cross by paying Rs. 50,000. The vehicle will be launched in May, and it will compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Volkswagen Cross Polo and upcoming Fiat Avventura.
Based on the Liva hatchback, the Etios Cross is being offered in both petrol and diesel guise. It measures 3895mm in length, 1735mm in width and 1555mm in height, making it around 110mm longer, 40mm wider and 45mm taller than its sibling hatchback. It has a 170mm of ground clearance, which we feel could have been improved.
Design wise, the Etios Cross has more rugged looks than its hatchback sibling. It comes equipped with grille guard, side cladding, diamond cut alloys, bold front grille, dynamic rear cladding with badging & roof spoilers, fog lamps with integrated turn indicators, outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators and few others.
On the inside, the Etios Cross features piano black interiors, sporty seat fabric with white stitch & logo, 2-DIN Audio with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in & Remote, Audio control on leather wrapped steering wheel. The Toyota Etios Cross is being offered in both petrol and diesel versions- a 1.5L & 1.2L petrol and a 1.4L D-4D diesel engine.
