Greenlam Industries rose 2.01% to Rs 370 at 12:26 IST on BSE after the company said it has commenced the commercial production of a new product line viz. Engineered Door sets & Door leaf at the company's manufacturing unit at Behror in Rajasthan.
The company made the announcement during market hours today, 10 September 2015.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 232.21 points or 0.9% at 25,487.37.
On BSE, so far 519 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 813 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 371.20 and a low of Rs 364 so far during the day.
With an installed capacity to manufacture 1.20 lakh units of engineered door sets and door leafs per annum in various sizes, thicknesses, designs and specifications, the company have become the first organised company to launch engineered, factory finished, door solutions in the country, Greenlam Industries said. The new products will be marketed by the company under its brand Mikasa.
Greenlam Industries' net profit rose 35.45% to Rs 6.38 crore on 4.66% decline in net sales to Rs 208.18 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q4 March 2015.
Greenlam Industries is into surface decorative business.
