Crude oil output falls 0.2% to 6.264 mt during April-May FY2015
India's crude oil production declined for third straight month at 0.3% to 3.16 million tonnes (mt) in May 2014, as per the data released by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The crude oil output of private/JV companies increased 3.1% to 1.005 mt, while that of ONGC declined 1.3% to 1.871 mt. ONGC's offshore output rebounded 2.3% to 1.337 mt, but onshore production continued to dip 9.3% to 0.534 mt. The crude oil production of Oil India fell 5.2% to 0.284 mt in May 2014.The crude oil output declined 0.2% to 6.264 mt during April-May FY2015, after 0.2% fall in FY2014 and 0.6% dip recorded in FY2013. Output of ONGC and Oil India declined 2.6% to 3.653 mt and 6.6% to 0.558 mt, while that of private companies improved 6.5% to 2.053 mt in April-May FY2015.
