Area of Pulses, Uradbean, Moongbean, Saybean, Sugarcane Exceeds Normal Area
The total area sown under kharif crops as on 04th September, 2015 has reached to 998.67 lakh hectares as compared to 979.40 lakh hectare last year at this time.Rice has been sown/transplanted in 361.46 lakh hectares, pulses in 108.37 lakh hectare (urdbean in 26.98 lakh hectare, moongbean in 24.57 lakh hectare) coarse cereals in 179.48 lakh hectare, oilseeds in 178.55 lakh hectare (saybean in 115.35 lakh hectare) and cotton in 114.17 lakh hectare.
