The economic package is worth 10% of the India GDP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Tuesday (12 May) announced an economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore. "The package of 20 lakh crore rupees will give a new momentum to the development journey of the country in 2020 for making India self-reliant," Modi said.
India's finance minister will outline the Covid-19 economic package from 13 May 2020. The package will focus on land, labour, law, liquidity. The package is for all classes of society, for all Indians & industry, PM added.
Modi further said that based on the suggestions by states, information related to the fourth lockdown will be announced before 18 May 2020.
