Somany Ceramics surged 9.96% to Rs 472.15 at 12:45 IST on BSE after net profit jumped 76.1% to Rs 26 crore on 12.7% growth in net sales to Rs 514 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q4 March 2015.
The result was announced on Saturday, 21 May 2016.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 48.13 points or 0.19% at 25,253.77.
On BSE, so far 18,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3,036 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 495 so far during the day, which is a 52-week high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 441 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 303.50 on 25 August 2015. The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 20 May 2016, declining 0.83% compared with Sensex's 2.1% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, surging 24.14% as against Sensex's 6.72% rise.
The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 8.48 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
Somany Ceramics' earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 50.7% to Rs 46 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q4 March 2015.
