Tata Motors hits record high

Tata Motors rose 1.56% to Rs 575.15 at 11:10 IST on BSE after the company yesterday, 22 January 2015, announced the commercial launch of its much-awaited sporty hatchback, the all-new Bolt.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 181.09 points or 0.62% at 29,187.11.

On BSE, so far 2.83 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 4.01 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

The stock hit a high of Rs 586.45 so far during the day, which is a record high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 573.50 so far during the day.

Manufactured at Tata Motors' Pimpri plant in Pune, Bolt is the latest car from Tata Motors, under its Horizonext umbrella and offers many segment-defining features for design, drivability and connectivity. The Bolt is launched at a starting price of Rs 4.44 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, for the Revotron (petrol) 1.2T and starts at Rs 5.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, for the diesel variant. The car will be available for sale, across the country in over 450 Tata Motors sales outlets from yesterday, 22 January 2015, the company said in a statement. Bolt is vailable in a five exciting colours - Venetian Red, Pristine White, Platinum Silver, Sky Grey, Dune Beige - in four trims -- XE, XM, XMS and XT.

Tata Motor's consolidated net profit fell 7.1% to Rs 3290.86 crore on 8% growth in net sales to Rs 60163.99 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
