Tata Motors Group global wholesales declined 3% to 97,348 units in December 2019 over December 2018.
The numbers were dislosed on Saturday, 11 January 2020.Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in December 2019 stood at 62,822 units, higher by 5% as compared to December 2018.
Global wholesales of all Tata Motors' commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in December 2019 were at 34,526 units, lower by 15%, over December 2018.
Global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) were 50,001 vehicles (*JLR number for December 2019 includes CJLR volumes of 5,492 units). Jaguar wholesales for the month were 12,742 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 37,259 vehicles.
CJLR is a JV between JLR and Chery Automobiles and is an unconsolidated subsidiary for JLR.
Tata Motors is engaged in manufacture of motor vehicles. The auto firm is engaged mainly in the business of automobile products consisting of all types of commercial and passenger vehicles, including financing of the vehicles sold by the company.
On a consolidated basis, Tata Motors recorded a net loss of Rs 227.62 crore in Q2 September 2019 compared with net loss of Rs 873.27 crore in Q2 September 2018. Net sales fell 9.2% to Rs 64,763.39 crore in Q2 September 2019 over Q2 September 2018.
Shares of Tata Motors fell 1.02% to Rs 194.4. The stock surged 10.05% in last one month as compared to a 2.15% rise in Nifty Auto index.
