Nifty November 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,661.90, at a tiny premium of 2.80 compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,659.10 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8,703, a premium of 43.90 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 4 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 4.44 lakh crore registered yesterday, 18 October 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 18.80 points or 0.22% to settle at 8,659.10, its lowest closing level since 17 October 2016.

Yes Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, and Dewan Housing Finance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank October 2016 futures traded at 1,294.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,289. Axis Bank October 2016 futures traded at 535.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 535.10. ICICI Bank October 2016 futures traded at 265.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 265.15.

Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 426.70, at spot closing of 426.70. Dewan Housing Finance October 2016 futures traded at 334.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 334.30.

The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
