Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,530.70, at a premium of 10.30 points over Nifty's closing of 8,520.40 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8,569.10, a premium of 48.70 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 3.63 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.80 lakh crore registered on Friday, 14 October 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty shed 63 points or 0.73% to settle at 8,520.40, its lowest closing level since 21 July 2016.
ICICI Bank, Dewan Housing Finance, Tata Steel, State Bank of India and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. ICICI Bank October 2016 futures traded at 258.90, at a discount compared with spot closing of 259.15. Dewan Housing Finance October 2016 futures traded at 307, at a discount compared with spot closing of 307.30. Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 411.65, near spot closing of 411.70.
State Bank of India October 2016 futures traded at 253, at spot closing of 253. Axis Bank October 2016 futures traded at 519.25, at a premium compared with spot closing of 518.85.
The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
