Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8610.90, at a premium of 27.50 points over Nifty's closing of 8583.40 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8650, a premium of 66.60 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 2.80 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 6.24 lakh crore registered yesterday, 13 October 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 10.05 points or 0.12% to settle at 8,583.40, its highest closing level since 10 October 2016.
Infosys, TCS, Tata Steel, State Bank of India and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Infosys October 2016 futures traded at 1019, at a discount compared with spot closing of 1025.40. TCS October 2016 futures traded at 2369.95, at a premium compared with spot closing of 2365.95. Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 413.90, near spot closing of 412.55.
State Bank of India October 2016 futures traded at 252.50, near spot closing of 251.90. Yes Bank October 2016 futures traded at 1269.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1263.50.
The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
