Nifty November 2016 futures at premium to spot price

The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8549.35, a premium of 35.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8514 in the cash market. The December 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8598.90, a premium of 84.90 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 3.53 lakh crore compared with turnover of Rs 2.43 lakh crore registered on Tuesday, 1 November 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 112.25 points or 1.3% to settle at 8,514, its lowest closing level since 11 July 2016.

Vedanta, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank of India and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Vedanta November 2016 futures traded at 217.70, at a discount compared with spot closing of 218.90. Tata Steel November 2016 futures traded at 416.70, near spot closing of 416.20. Mahindra & Mahindra November 2016 futures traded at 1369.90, at a premium over spot closing of 1365.40.

State Bank of India November 2016 futures traded at 251.60, near spot closing of 251. Axis Bank November 2016 futures traded at 477.50, at a premium over spot closing of 476.05.

The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016
