Turnover on NSE's F&O segment surges

Nifty October futures at premium

The Nifty October 2017 futures traded at 10116.95, a premium of 20.55 points over Nifty's spot closing of 10096.40 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 11.28 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 7.98 lakh crore registered yesterday, 11 October 2017.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index advanced 111.60 points or 1.12% to settle at 10,096.40, its highest closing level since 21 September 2017.

Reliance Industries (RIL), Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank and Vedanta were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL October 2017 futures traded at 876.25, near spot closing of 875.60. Hindalco Industries October 2017 futures traded at 264.65, near spot closing of 264.50.

Tata Steel October 2017 futures traded at 694.15, at a premium over spot closing of 692.60. IndusInd Bank October 2017 futures traded at 1751, at a premium over spot closing of 1747. Vedanta October 2017 futures traded at 321.45, near spot closing of 320.10.

The October 2017 F&O contracts expire on 26 October 2017.
