10 arrested for betting on IPL matches

Ten persons have been arrested here for betting on Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket games, police said on Monday.

The police made the arrests on Sunday midnight on a tip off and recovered cash, a laptop, illegal weapons and other articles from a place in Sihani Gate area.

Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar told the media that when the police conducted the raid, the persons engaged in betting tried to escape but were caught.

Those held were identified as Ankit, Anuj, Rajdeep, Rahul Tyagi, Dharmendra alias Ashu, Sanjay Singh, Vivek Verma, Tishu Tyagi, Vipin Tyagi and Ravi.
