11 killed in China karaoke bar fire

At least 11 people were killed and 24 injured Monday in a fire that broke out in a karaoke bar in China's Henan province.

According to officials, a total of 35 people were rushed to the hospital after the fire broke out in the Huangguan karaoke bar in Changyuan county, Xinhua reported.

Thirteen people were seriously injured out of which one was in critical condition, the officials said.

The identities of the victims were being verified and the cause of the incident being probed.

County authorities ordered all karaoke bars to suspend operation and ensure fire safety.
