260 militants give up fighting in Afghanistan

At least 260 Taliban militants gave up fighting in Afghanistan's Samangan province and handed over their weapons to authorities on Tuesday, a police official said.

"The fighters, including three key Taliban commanders, surrendered to the government," Xinhua news agency quoted the official as saying.

Taliban militants were yet to make comment.
