After remaining suspended due to closure of Jammu-Srinagar national highway for a day, the Amarnath Yatra was resumed on Monday as another batch of 277 pilgrims left Jammu for Kashmir.
"Another batch of 277 yatris left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the valley," a senior police officer said here.
"The yatris left in a convoy escorted by the security forces," he said.
Over 500 pilgrims had 'Darshan' inside the Cave Shrine on Monday, officials of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) that manages the affairs of the annual pilgrimage said.
Ever since the yatra started on July 2, over 20,22,000 pilgrims have performed this year's Yatra.
The yatra ends on August 17 coinciding with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festivals.
