The Shiv Sena's Uttar Pradesh unit on Sunday accused the BJP of "hypocrisy" over the issue of Haj House in Ghaziabad.
Sena leader Mahesh Ahuja said though the Bharatiya Janata Party was instrumental in allotting land for the Haj House here in 2005, the party was now opposing its inauguration.
"The BJP is now claiming to oppose the opening of the Haj House. It is all hypocrisy. It was the BJP which allotted the land for the Haj House," the Sena leader said.
He said the BJP passed a resolution to transfer over 20,000 sq metres of public land to the Haj House when it ruled the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation.
Ahuja said the Shiv Sena had opposed the project.
