As much as 400 kg 'charas' (cannabis derivative) and around Rs 17 lakh in cash were seized from two drug suppliers who have been arrested, Punjab Police said on Tuesday.
Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police Mandeep Singh Sidhu told the media that 250 tablets of intoxicants were also seized from the possession of Pritpal Singh of Tohana in Haryana and Sham Lal of Sangrur.
The seizure was made from a mini truck on the outskirts of Maanwala village near Dhuri town on Monday following a tip-off, Sidhu said.
He said that the accused brought the drugs from neighbouring Haryana.
Police is conducting raids to nab others involved in the drug trade.
