A day after it got mild snowfall, the Himachal Pradesh capital and nearby tourist spots experienced a sunny Thursday although the minimum temperature was below the freezing point.
The meteorological office here said the minimum temperature was minus 0.8 degree, while the maximum stayed at 9.8 degrees Celsius.
The snow in Shimla on Wednesday melted within a few hours, but its nearby hills like Kufri and Mashobra still have accumulation of snow, the Met office said.
Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place in the state with a low of minus 11.2 degrees, while it was minus 6 degrees in Kalpa in Kinnaur district and minus 4.2 degrees Celsius in Manali and minus 0.1 degree in Dalhousie.
Dharamsala registered a low of 4.8 degrees, while the day's temperature was 12.2 degrees.
According to the weather office, western disturbances will be active again on December 26-27, resulting in more snowfall in the high hills.
