US tornadoes kill three

At least three people were killed and 40 injured as multiple tornadoes hit parts of Mississippi state in the US, the media reported on Thursday.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said it had received reports of "extensive damage" caused by the tornados from Benton, Marshall and four other counties, Xinhua news agency reported.

The high winds also caused significant damage to homes. According to officials, more tornadoes are due to hit the states of Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Alabama.
