Ashish Kumar Goel, an Indian Railway Stores Service officer of 1979 batch, has taken over as the general manager of South Eastern Railway, it was announced on Friday.
A South Eastern Railway release said Goel has in the recent past been involved in successful implementation of e-procurement and e-auction project for Indian Railways and finalisation of Marhowra and Madhepura Loco Manufacturing Projects.
Prior to taking up his new post on Thursday, Goel was working as additional member (Railway Stores), Railway Board.
Goel, a mechanical engineer from Regional Engineering College, Allahabad, joined Indian Railways as materials manager.
