An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) delegation on Thursday met union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over its leader Dilip Pandey's allegation that a Delhi Police van tried to run him over.

The delegation, including Kumar Vishwas and Pandey, handed over to Rajnath Singh a compact disc of a video recording of the incident.

"We handed to the home minister the video proof and a letter regarding what happened with Dilip Pandey. He said he was aware of the issue," Vishwas said after emerging out of the meeting with the home minister.

The delegation also complained to Rajnath Singh about Delhi Police's alleged beating up of party workers during a protest against the grisly murder of a 19-year-old woman.

"Beating up of our workers for protesting over the Anand Parbat case is another issue we spoke about with the home minister," the AAP leader said.

"After a beating at the protest site, they were beaten up in police lock-up too," he added.

The meeting comes a day after AAP leaders met Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police over the issue.

Pandey said a police van tried to run him over when he was speaking with journalists outside Rajinder Nagar police station in central Delhi on Tuesday evening. He was there to get released the party workers detained during the protest.
