An accident was averted on the Delhi-Rohtak rail section Saturday as a tree that had fallen on tracks was noticed and removed, officials said.
Around 7.40 a.m. an eucalyptus tree of about 80 feet height was noticed by railway staff on the tracks between Kharawar and Asthal Bohar railway stations, officials said in a statement released here.
The track was cleared and rail traffic restored by 9.15 a.m., the release said.
"The rail traffic was restored in less than one-and-a-half hour, even though overhead electric wires were also damaged," it said.
