After facing technical problems, the two units (of the 600 MW each) of the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Project in Haryana have achieved the generation target, an officer said Wednesday.

The plant, situated in Hisar which is some 200 km from here, will generate power for Haryana, Delhi and other neighbouring states, the official said.

The thermal plant's two Chinese units were commissioned in August 2010 and March 2011 respectively and had been plagued with technical problems since then, Haryana Power Generation Corp Managing Director Anurag Agarwal said here.

Now it has become fully operational after a forced shutdown in February.

"Both units are giving excellent performance on all fronts. Their plant load factor (PLF) has been of 93.73 percent and 93.91 percent respectively. The units have achieved the targets fixed by Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission," Aggarwal said.
