The tournament, offering a total prize-money of Rs.10 lakh, has attracted 11 GMs, 4 WGMs, 15 IMs and one WIM besides several FIDE masters from 13 countries like Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Bangladesh, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, USA, Nepal, Israel and Switzerland apart from India.
The event is sponsored by Chennai Super Kings, co-sponsored by Brookefields, supported by government of India, ministry of youth affairs and sports and Sports Development of Authority of Tamil Nadu.
The tournament will be played on the 11-round Swiss format with a time control of 90 minutes with increment of 30 seconds from move 1.
International Arbiter S. Paul Arokiaraj will be the Chief Arbiter and assisted by a number of International Arbiters and FIDE Arbiters.
