Argentine World No.60 Paula Ormaechea defeated Japan's Kurumi Nara in straight sets in Round 1 of the Fed Cup World Group II to give her country a chance to compete in repechage.
The Argentine player won 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 29 minutes on the clay courts of the Pilara Tennis Club here Sunday, reports Xinhua.
"I'm still shaking. I'm happy," a joyous Ormaechea said. Her win handed Argentina a 3-1 score, though the South American country still has pending competitions in both singles and doubles.
Argentina will play in repechage in April for a chance to compete in the 2015 World Group.
