Frankfurt appointed Armin Veh as their new head coach after the surprising departure of Thomas Schaaf at the end of last month, the "Eagles" announced.
Former Eintracht Frankfurt coach Armin Veh returned after a one-year absence to the "Eagles" to pen a two-year deal until June 2017, reported Xinhua news agency.
"We held talks with multiple coaches. However, the decisive factor for Armin Veh was that he possesses besides his coaching qualities, the ability to have an integrative effect on the club. Moreover, he knows the club through his previous commitment," Frankfurt's CEO Heribert Burchhagen said on Monday.
The 54-year-old coach, who has already coached the "Hessen" from 2011 until 2014, guided Frankfurt into the first division and into the UEFA Europa League. In May 2014 Veh took the helm at Stuttgart to resign in November following poor performances.
"Eintracht Frankfurt was and is a special task for me. I will try everything possible to lead the team into a positive future," Armin Veh said.
The "Eagles" completed the last Bundesliga season on the ninth place of the standings. Nevertheless, their striker Alexander Meier snatched the Bundesliga top-scorer trophy with 19 goals in 26 appearances.
