Tunis, July 11 (IANS/EFE) The Tunisian Army killed five suspected terrorists in the mountainous region of Orbata, a media report said.
Tunisian press on Friday said that the alleged terrorists were killed during a search operation and the toll is expected to rise.
Murad al-Gharsali, one of the leaders of Ansar al-Sharia, a terrorist group that operates in both Tunisia and Libya, may be among the dead, according to media reports.
The operation was part of new security measures implemented following the two major terrorist attacks in the past three months that claimed the lives of 60 foreign tourists.
Thirty-eight foreign tourists, mostly British, were killed on June 26 when a gunman opened fire on them at a hotel beach in the coastal town of Sousse, while another 22 foreigners were killed on March 18 in an attack carried out by two terrorists on the Bardo museum here.
