Bollywood celebrities participated in the celebration of two years of the Narendra Modi government highlighting, sharing and spreading awareness on its social campaigns like "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" and "Swachh Bharat" campaigns.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Raveena Tandon and Kajol were present at the gala celebrations, showcasing the effect of Bollywood actors which has directly or indirectly helped in tackling some crucial social issues.

With Big B promoting the "Bati Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign in the capacity of United Nation's ambassador of the girl child mission, the message of nurturing, educating and treating the girl child as equals was discussed at length.

Crooning the song "Chhoti si aasha" was the Indian Idol Junior star Nahid Afrin, while Anupam Kher, clad in saffron kurta and trousers with a Nehru jacket, sang the Clean India anthem"Swachh Bharat ka irada".

"Swachh was not a cool word but with Prasoon Joshi (writer of the song), we have made a song about it. Earlier we had no idea what the government was doing, but now we have a clear picture about all the work that is happ ening around us," Kher said.

On the other hand, Raveena Tandon, who is also known for backing social causes, urged people to lead girls towards success by imparting education to them.

The actress also shared how she helped a group of 30 girls when they were asked to vacate an orphanage overnight.

Lauding the present government's efforts to clean India, Vidya, who is a part of "Jahan Soch Wahan Shauchalya" campaign, said that she is glad to be a part of it.

"I am a small part of the campaign but at the same time I am proud to be a part of it. Modi government has done a great job in spreading awareness about needs and toilets," Vidya said.

To give a break to the heavy discussions on India's progress under Modi's rein, a performance on mix of music maestro A.R. Rehman's numbers including the internationally famous song "Jai Ho", took place.

The Shillong Chamber choir also added its charm by singing "Saare jahan se achha", interspersed with Rabindranath Tagore's "Where the mind is without fear".

Kajol, who is the new board member of Prasar Bharti, said in a video message: "I will try to make communication easier so the government knows what the people want and vice versa."

Big B discussed the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign with ad guru Piyush Pandey in a panel discussion, sharing his experience with a self-made woman he got the opportunity to interact with during his time as the host of TV show "Kaun Banega Crorepati".
