Moulana Badaruddin Ajmal, Lok Sabha MP from Dhubri constituency and a perfume trader, on Wednesday landed himself in a controversy by abusing a journalist and threatening him.
Ajmal leads the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).
The AIUDF chief became agitated on Wednesday while addressing a press conference at Mankachar to honour AIUDF leaders who had won in the recently concluded panchayat polls in the state.
Ajmal got agitated when the journalist asked him if he would side with the party that comes to power in New Delhi.
Ajmal not only verbally abused the journalist but also asked him to get out of the venue. "I'll smash your head," said Ajmal, while snatching the boom from the journalist.
