Bhubaneshwar Hostel thrashed Canara Bank 8-1 in a Beighton Cup quarterfinal league game at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) grounds here on Wednesday.
Sumit Toppo and Prasant Tirkey scored a brace each with Sanjit Toppo, Tophil Kukjur, Prakash Barla and Kunjan Toppo scoring the other four. Only Somaiah managed to score for Canara Bank.
In another game, Punjab National Bank (PNB) beat Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) 3-1. Navneet Antil, Jugraj Singh and Sumeet Pal Singh found the back of the net for PNB while Balvinder Singh scored for CAG.
In the third game of the day, Army XI downed RCF Kapurthala 2-1. Julian Lugan and Noel Dodrai scored once each for the armymen.
Indian Oil and PNB lead Group A and Group B respectively with six points each in the quarter-final league. The top two team from each group will battle it out in the semi-finals scheduled later this week.
