Athletic Bilbao have confirmed that Spanish striker Kike Sola has moved to Middlesbrough, leaders of the English football second division, on loan until the end of the season.

The English club announced the arrival of Sola on its official website on Friday, reports Efe.

Sola will be a teammate of his compatriot Fernando Amorebieta at Middlesbrough, and coached by Aitor Karanka, former assistant coach at Real Madrid.

"He brings something extra we don't have," the coach said.

The 29-year-old moved from Osasuna to Bilbao in the summer of 2013, when he played a total of 26 official matches and scored five goals.
