BJP leader Vijay Jolly and MP Rajyavardhan Rathore met US Congressman Tulsi Gabbard to discuss Prime Minister Narendra Modi's forthcoming visit to the US, a release said Sunday.
Speaking after the meeting in Atlanta, Gabbard said that it was a "great blunder" by US government for having denied a visa to Modi earlier, a release from Jolly's office said.
Stressing that US and India were close allies, the Congressman said Modi's visit and meeting with US President Barack Obama "shall strengthen Indo-US friendship and understanding".
Jolly, the global convenor of Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party, Jolly invited Gabbard to attend the Sep 28 public programme organised by the Indian American Community Foundation for Modi's welcome at the Madison Square Garden, New York.
Jolly and Rathore are touring eight US cities ahead of Modi's visit.
