Eminent breast surgeon P. Raghu Ram on Sunday participated in a "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign in his adopted village in Telangana.
Inspired by a personal letter written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ram, the Director of Kim-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases spearheaded a cleanliness drive in Ibrahimpur, village in Medak district.
The drive was conducted near the Gandhi statue, water tank and at Pochamma Temple areas.
Addressing the villagers, Ram emphasized that as citizens of a great nation, it is important to rise up to the Prime Minister's call and ensure that our surroundings are kept clean. He also echoed Modi's views that acoming together for cleanliness would be a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi Bapu and working for a "New India'.
