The Border Security Force (BSF) Tuesday recovered Rs.10 lakh fake Indian currency notes (FICN) and arrested a man from a border outpost in West Bengal's Malda district.
The money comprising Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 denomination counterfeit notes was kept in a plastic bag and thrown into the Indian side from across the Bangladesh border. Noor Islam, 19, a resident of Kaliachak in the district, was apprehended.
Over the past month, the BSF has seized fake Indian currency notes of face value of over Rs.37 lakh from the district.
