The Election Commission Friday announced by-elections to fill two Rajya Sabha seats from Haryana which fell vacant after resignation of Birender Singh and Ranbir Singh Prajapati.
According to an Election Commission release, the notification for election will be issued Nov 18 and the elections will be on Dec 5.
Birender Singh, who was a Congress member of the Rajya Sabha, had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party before the assembly elections in Haryana.
Prajapati, who was Indian National Lok Dal member in the Rajya Sabha, was elected to the state assembly from Nalwa assembly seat in Hisar district.
The MPs to be elected in the by-polls will serve till Aug 1, 2016, when term of the two members who resigned, expires.
