A court here on Monday sent Udhampur terror attack accused Muhammad Naveed alias Qasim Khan, a Pakistani national, to judicial custody till August 26.

Jammu's chief judicial magistrate Sunnet Gupta issued the order.

The accused had earlier been on police remand for 15 days.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing the Udhampur terror attack in which three people, including two BSF troopers, were killed and 11 troopers injured on the Jammu-Srinagar National highway on August 5.

After escaping from the attack site, the accused had entered Chirdi village near Samroli on the highway and taken three people hostage. He was finally over-powered by his hostages and handed over to police.

So far, the NIA has rounded up around half a dozen people for questioning based on identification by Naveed.
