Four Taliban militants were killed and seven sustained injuries as a car bomb went off outside Helmand's provincial capital Lashkar Gah Saturday, police said.
"A group of Taliban militants driving an explosives-laden car planned to detonate it in the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, but the car exploded accidentally in Mukhtar Qala area outside the provincial capital at around 11 a.m. local time today," Xinhua quoted provincial police chief Juma Gul Humat as saying.
Humat also confirmed that four Taliban militants riding the car were killed and seven others sustained injuries in the blast.
Lashkar Gah is 555 km south of the national capital Kabul.
