With the addition of 110 new ambulances and setting up of a modern control room, the Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) will be strengthening its emergency medical response service in the national capital, a statement said in Friday.

On the occasion, an agreement was signed between CATS and Wipro limited for establishing the modern control room at Laxmi Nagar in east Delhi. The construction will begin next week and will be functional within 175 days. The ambulances will be added by March 1, 2016.

"Apart from being the most advanced in the country, the control room will be capable of meeting the present and future requirements in terms of hardware infrastructure, software application, etc," the Delhi government statement said.

Some of the other key features of the control room include cloud storage for data backup, application based caller location identification system to know the exact coordinates of caller, real time tracking of all ambulances among others.

The total cost of the project is Rs.13.92 crore which includes 6 years project maintenance cost and technical support cost.
