'China's scientific tests not targeting any country'

China's scientific experiments did not target any country, the defence ministry spokesman said here Thursday.

He made the statement in response to media reports about China's recent test of a hypersonic missile carrier, Xinhua reported.

"It is normal for China to carry out planned scientific research and experiments within its borders," the spokesman said in a statement.

"The tests are not aimed at any country or any specific target," he added.
