China, Tanzania to boost relations

China and Tanzania have agreed to strengthen their comprehensive cooperative partnership.

After a meeting Thursday between Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and visiting Tanzanian Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda, both sides signed cooperation agreements in various fields, including diplomacy, economy, technology, tourism, and agriculture, Xinhua reported.

Li said China is willing to work out strategic plans with Tanzania and promote cooperation on major projects.

He also said China and Tanzania will mark the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year.

Li said China will continue to provide assistance for Tanzania within its capacity and hopes the East African country will offer support to Chinese enterprises.

On China-Africa relations, Li said promoting the friendly cooperation was an important aspect of China's foreign policy.

He said China is willing to work with African countries to create a peaceful and stable environment for development.

Stating that Tanzania-China friendship enjoys a solid foundation, Pinda expressed admiration for Chinese development and hoped to learn from its experience.

He said Tanzania wanted to increase mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen coordination on international affairs with China to cement the two countries' friendly relations.
