With exactly 10 months to go for the U-17 World Cup which India will host for the first time, the Coca Cola Cup is set to give national football team coach Nicolai Adam another chance t0 spot talent ahead of the showpiece event.

The age-group tournament will be held across eleven states --Assam, Delhi, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab & West Bengal -- in December/January.

"I am sure the Coca Cola Cup will help us to unearth talent for the World Cup squad. The tournament offers all perhaps the last chance to get selected for the World Cup team," Abhishek Yadav, the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) director of scouting, was quoted as saying by www.the-aiff.com.

Boys born on or after January 1, 2000, are eligible to participate in the tournament.

"Among other things, the U-17 World Cup 2017 will be a culmination of our partnership and work that we have jointly put in youth football development in India over the years," AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das said.

"Coca Cola has been a partner of AIFF for over seven years and their contribution has helped us immensely in getting Youth Football organised," he added.
